School staff celebrate years of service
Thirteen School of Social Ecology staff members this year are celebrating three, five, 10, 15, 25 or 30 years of service this year. They are:
25 years:
- Mary C. Underwood, manager of the Criminology, Law and Society Department
15 years:
- Jennifer Dos Santos, senior assistant dean
10 years:
- Pamela Bui, senior contract and grant analyst
- Ciara Holbach, senior personnel analyst
5 years:
- Irice Castro, assistant director of graduate affairs
- Tresa Hightower, development analyst
- Gary Huynh, senior financial analyst
- Han Parker, digital media manager
3 years:
- Lisardy Velasco, academic counselor
- Jorge Padilla, MURP assistant director
- Marie Gillespie, director of clinical programming
- Grant Speckert, finance/personnel assistant
One staff member, celebrating her 30th year of service, requested not to be listed.
The staff members were among hundreds of UCI employees feted June 21 at the Bren Events Center during a ceremony at which they were thanked for their service.
“We are here to recognize and honor all that you do to make UC Irvine the extraordinary institution that it is,” Chancellor Howard Gillman told the gathering. “In particular, I want to personally pay tribute to you all as champions of our success. You are the guiding force that keeps our university functioning, thriving, and excelling in all aspects of our mission — from the creation of new knowledge, to the transmission of that knowledge to amazing students, to the promotion of health and healing, to the extensive ways we serve our broader community and our world.”
