The lead article in this month's ASC flagship journal, Criminology, was authored by no other than CLS doctoral candidate James Wo, CLS Professor John Hipp, and CLS alumni Adam Boessen. Their article, "Voluntary Organizations and Neighborhod Crime: A Dynamic Perspective" shows that voluntary organizations indeed reduce crime in neighborhoods, but this impact is delayed and needs for long-term investment in such organizations.
