Members of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department gang prevention program and 20 of their at risk- youths attended a conference at UC Irvine. Professors Elliott Currie and John Dombrink, from the Department of Criminology, Law and Society, spoke at the conference, along with representatives from Homeboy Industries. Homeboy Industries is a non-profit organization geared toward intervention and helping youths and adult gang members walk away from a life of crime.
